Mr. Hirl graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in economics. He has spent over 30 years in the oil and gas industry, with broad experience in various functional areas from operations to finance, marketing, international project economics and trading and risk management. His experience covers a broad array of energy issues in both the domestic U.S. and international markets. At Kinder Morgan, Mr. Hirl leads the company’s efforts to develop CCS projects in North America, with special emphasis on general supply and infrastructure for expanded EOR opportunities. He has been active with various DOE regional sequestration partnerships since inception, is on the Board of the North American Carbon Capture and Storage Association, is one of the founding industrial members of the Gulf Coast Carbon Center, and is active with various organizations focused on CCS / EOR policy developments.

President and Chief Operating Officer, Denbury Resources Inc.

Ronald T. (Tracy) Evans is president and chief operating officer of Denbury Resources Inc., a long-time oil producer that uses CO2 in enhanced oil-recovery operations. He is a registered professional engineer and joined the company in 1999, and was senior vice president, reservoir engineering, until becoming president and COO in June 2009. Before joining Denbury, he was with Matador Petroleum Corp. and Enserch Exploration Inc. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1984 and his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1995. Evans is a Denbury director and is also on the board of Genesis Energy LP.
