Dr. Michael A. Warren
Executive Director, Global Research & Strategic Studies, Hart Energy Consulting
Dr. Michael Warren currently serves as the Executive Director of Global Research & Strategic Studies for Hart Energy. He oversees publication of the World Refining Fuels Service, heads Hart’s Miami office and manages several consulting projects around the world in the field of biofuels.
Prior to joining Hart Energy, Michael was the National Manager of the Latin American Research Group in Toyota Motor North America (TMA) for eleven years. In that position at TMA, Mr. Warren managed a team that conducted economic, political, automotive market & competitor intelligence research for Toyota in Latin American markets. Michael was also a participating member of the Demand Task Group of the National Petroleum Council’s (the “NPC”) Oil & Natural Gas Study. Served on the Board of Directors for Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) for two years

Lee Schipper
Senior Research Engineer, Precourt Institute of Energy Efficiency at Stanford
- Professor, Precourt Institute of Energy Efficiency at Stanford
- Senior Project Scientist at Global Metropolitan Studies, University of California, Berkeley
- Previously director of research for EMBARQ, the World Resources Institute (WRI) Center for Sustainable Transport which he helped found in April 2002, and remains as Embarq Fellow.
- Experience also includes six years as a visiting scientist at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris (1995-2001) and staff senior scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for 20 years.
- Author of more than 100 technical papers and a number of books on energy economics and transportation around the world.
- Past member of the Swedish Board for Transportation and Communications Research for four years, and currently a member of the US Transportation Research Board's on Sustainable Transport, Energy, and Developing Countries Committees.
- As a consultant, Dr. Schipper works with Global Business Network/Monitor and Cambridge Energy Research Associates as a Senior Associate. He also served as a consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other international groups. He lectures widely around the world.
- Recipient of the Royal Medal of HM Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and a small share of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his work with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
- Ph.D. in astrophysics and BA in music from the University of California, Berkeley.
